Augmented Reality Contest with Shazam

Brief

Create a new way for ACTIVEO2 fans to interact with the brand.

ACTIVEO2 from Adelholzener wanted a new and interesting way for people to interact with their brand and to participate in their upcoming contest. Not only did they want an interactive world but they needed it accessible through various touchpoints. In-Store, Packaging, and Online. By creating an Augmented Reality world within the Shazam app, we made sure that everyone would be able to experience the ACTIVEO2 world without having to download an additional augmented reality app.

Process

Once the client decided on an Augmented Reality world, the project really took off.

How does a large brand launch an augmented reality competititon without making their fans on iOS and Android download a completely new AR app, just for a single use? We use an existing app that everyone already has. Shazam. After a series of technical issues due to the materials used, and many design variations we finally had a product both us and the client were happy with.

Result

Our fans participated in record numbers and spent more time than anticipated within the Augmented Reality World.

By being the first brand in Germany to use Shazam AR capabilities we were able to surpass all brand KPI’s and impress all the campaign stakeholders.
